Park Development Progress Report <br /> <br />Mr. Bye noted that the Lions Park light bases have been set, the conduit has been trenched, <br />and the wires pulled, and the electrician is working to hook up each of the lights. He noted <br />that the trails at Lions Park had been overlaid, as well as the Highlands West parking area <br />and trail, and also the Hillside Park driveway entrance. Phil Hals, Parks and Streets <br />Superintendent, noted that he is waiting for comment back from the insurance carrier <br />regarding the potential City-built skate park equipment. <br /> <br />Commissioner Anderson noted that the ski trails received their final mowing and that Streets <br />and Parks employee Case Hayward did a great job mowing the trails. <br /> <br />8. City Recreation Update <br /> <br />Michele Bergh provided an update of recreation activities to date. The Holiday brochure has <br />been delivered. The current focus is on planning Family Fright Night which will be October <br />25, 2003. <br /> <br />9A.1. Community Events: None <br /> <br />9.B.1. Park Dedication Case No. AS 03-04 - Administrative Subdivision by Rodney and Clara <br />Anderson <br /> <br />Director of Planning Michele McPherson reviewed the staff report for the administrative <br />subdivision. The subject property is located at the intersection of Manor Place and Morton <br />Avenue. An existing single-family home is on the site and the applicants propose to <br />subdivide the lot into two parcels. The site is not large enough for land dedication. Staff <br />recommends cash dedication for one lot. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORK, SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER PAIGE TO ACCEPT THE STAFF RECOMMENDATION TO <br />ACCEPT CASH DEDICATION FOR ONE LOT. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />9.G1. Acknowledge Contribution from Tiller Corporation <br /> <br />Director of Planning Ms. McPherson reported that the Recreational Access Agreement with <br />Tiller Corporation has been executed on behalf of both parties. Tiller Corporation indicated <br />a willingness to assist the City in bettering the parks and sent a check in the amount of <br />$1,372.98. Staff recommends the Commission acknowledge the contribution from Tiller. <br /> <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER KUESTER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />ANDERSON, TO ACKNOWEDGE AND THANK TILLER CORPORATION <br />FOR THEIR GENEROUS DONATION, WITH THE MONIES TO BE USED <br />FOR SECURITY GATES IN WooDIAND TRAILS PARK. MOTION CARRIED <br />7-0. <br />
