Decision Resources - A meeting with Decision Resources has been <br />scheduled for Wednesday, March 24. 1998 at 3:30 p.m. Chair Anderson, <br />Commissioner Kuester, Phil Hals and City Administrator Pat Klaers will attend this <br />meeting. Commissioner Kuester indicated the bond referendum proposal will be <br />presented to the City Council in May for approval and he anticipates starting the <br />campaign between June 1 st and June 15th. <br /> <br />b. Pool- Discussion followed regarding representation on a Pool Task Force. <br />An ad will be placed in the Star News to solicit volunteers from the community. <br /> <br />6. Area Recreation Uodate - Jeff Asfahl <br /> <br />Jeff updated the Commission on the ERY AC concession stand, Youth Initiatives <br />Task Force, skatepark and recreation center at the former Prairie House site. <br /> <br />9. Staff Uodates <br /> <br />Phil Hals indicated that Park Foreman. Terry Bye. will represent staff at the April 8th <br />Park and Recreation Commission meeting. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Boys and Girls Club - Phil reported they have started groundwork for the proposed <br />Boys and Girls Club. The organization is working on funding raising at this time. <br />Approximately $500.000 is needed for construction costs and $200,000 annually <br />for operating costs. <br /> <br />Skateoark - Phil noted there has been some discussion regarding locating the <br />skatepark adjacent to the Boys and Girls Club in Lions Park. Phil suggested the <br />Commission may need to consider relocating the playground if the skatepark is <br />built in that location. <br /> <br />Varsity Fields - Phil indicated he is proceeding with plans for water at the varsity <br />fields. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />There being no further business, COMMISSIONER MADSEN MOVED TO ADJOURN <br />THE MEETING. COMMISSIONER KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION.
