<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />May 2, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />THE ELK RIVER AREA SCHOOL BOARD AND TO ALL DISTRICT-WIDE <br />LEGISLATORS EXPRESSING OPPOSITION AS A CITY FOR INDEPENDENT <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT 728 TO BE SPLIT INTO TWO SCHOOL DISTRICTS. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Councihnember Motin stated that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority will be <br />meeting with MetroPlains either at 5:30 p.m. on May 9 or at their June meeting to clarify <br />some issues regarding affordable housing. Councihnember Motin indicated that the BRA <br />has communicated all along that they were not interested in having low income subsidized <br />housing included in the Downtown Revitalization Project but in a grant agreement that <br />came before the BRA for approval at the May 2 meeting, it states as a requirement that <br />tenants cannot make more than 60% of the median Sherburne County income. <br />Councihnember Motin invited the Council to attend the meeting to provide their feedback. <br /> <br />8. Staff Updates <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers distributed Public Safety Open House flyers to the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Klaers indicated that the Annual Chamber business meeting is scheduled for May 17, <br />2005 and if any Councihnembers are interested in attending they should let staff know by <br />May 9. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, Mayor Klinzing adjourned the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council at 8:55 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by Jessica Miller. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />,Jk~ <br /> <br />
