Eligible employees are limited to using a maximum of 160 hours of sick time in any <br /> 12-month period for a Safety Leave or for a Sick Family Member Leave resulting from the <br /> illness of or injury to the employee's adult child, spouse, sibling, parent, parent-in-law, <br /> stepparent, grandparent, or grandchild. <br /> Sick time under this policy must be used in the same manner as the employee would use the <br /> sick time for his/her own illness. <br /> Please note that, if an employee is also eligible for FMLA leave to care for a sick family <br /> member, FMLA leave and Minnesota sick leave time will run concurrently. <br /> 50. SCHOOL ACTIVITIES LEAVE POLICY <br /> Employees who have worked at least one-half time during the preceding twelve months are <br /> entitled to up to 16 hours leave during any 12-month period to attend school conferences or <br /> classroom activities related to the employee's child,provided the conferences or classroom <br /> activities cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. If an employee's child receives <br /> child care services or attends a pre-kindergarten regular or special education program, the <br /> employee may use the leave time to attend a conference, or activity related to the <br /> employee's child, or to observe and monitor the services and program, provided the <br /> conference, activity or observation cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. <br /> When the need for leave under this section is foreseeable, the employee must provide <br /> reasonable prior notice of the leave to his or her immediate supervisor and make a <br /> reasonable effort to schedule the leave so as not to unduly disrupt Utilities business. <br /> Regular paid sick leave may not be used for purposes of this school activities leave. <br /> 51. BONE MARROW AND ORGAN DONATION LEAVE <br /> Employees who work an average of twenty (20) or more hours per week who seek to <br /> undergo a medical procedure to donate bone marrow or an organ or partial organ will be <br /> granted up to forty(40)hours of paid leave. Regular sick leave need not be used when this <br /> Bone Marrow and Organ Donation Leave policy is applicable to the circumstances. The <br /> Utilities may require verification by a health care provider of the purpose and length of <br /> each leave requested by the employee pursuant to this policy. <br /> 52. NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVE LEAVE <br /> Any officer or employee of the Utilities who is a member of the National Guard or other <br /> reserve unit is entitled to a leave of absence from public office or employment without loss <br /> of pay, seniority status, efficiency rating, vacation leave, sick leave, or other benefits for <br /> the time that he/she is engaged with the reserve in training or active service so long as such <br /> 44 <br /> March 2017 <br /> September 2018 <br /> 91 <br />
