The reader should be aware that the complete <br /> fi ancial statements may contain additional information which may interpret, explain or modify the data <br /> pr:sented here. <br /> T e City's CAFR for the year ending 2016 was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in <br /> Fi ancial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada <br /> (GI OA). This was the 28th consecutive year that the City has received this award. The Certificate of <br /> Achievement is the highest form of recognition for excellence in state and local government financial <br /> re porting. The City has submitted its CAFR for the 2017 fiscal year to GFOA. <br /> In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government unit must publish an easily readable <br /> anc efficiently organized CAFR,whose contents conform to program standards. Such CAFR must satisfy <br /> bo h generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
