Short-Range Plan <br /> This section outlines MMPA's short-range action plan. <br /> Projected Capacity MMPA is not projected to need capacity until planning year 2030. <br /> Needs Met Through <br /> Planning Year 2029 <br /> MMPA Signed 170 MMPA has signed a wind PPA for 170 MW of energy. The resource <br /> MW Wind PPA is anticipated to begin commercial operation at the end of 2019. This <br /> PPA will help MMPA to meet the Renewable Energy Standard that <br /> is discussed in Section 12 and to meet its incremental energy needs <br /> with renewable energy. <br /> Cover Capacity As discussed in Section 8, MMPA is projected to have adequate <br /> Needs in the Short- capacity through planning year 2029. However, in the future if <br /> Term Market MMPA instead has a deficit, the incremental difference could be <br /> covered in the short-term capacity market. <br /> Continue to Develop MMPA will continue to develop and market cost-effective <br /> and Market Cost- conservation programs for its member utilities to offer to their retail <br /> Effective customers. The Agency's philosophy is to focus on programs that <br /> Conservation generate the most energy savings per dollar spent. MMPA also <br /> Programs remains committed to providing energy efficiency programs that <br /> benefit Minnesota's low-income households. <br /> 106 <br />
