ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> -01/ '" Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> • Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> July 13, 1993 <br /> 3:00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> James Simpson Vice Chairman <br /> George Zabee Trustee <br /> Others present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Glenn Sundeen Line Superintendent <br /> Terry Maurer Maier Stewart & Assoc <br /> Bill Rubin City of Elk River <br /> Bob McCartney Water Superintendent <br /> Rick Foster Developer <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 3 :00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Zabee to approve the <br /> agenda. The motion carried. <br /> 3) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Zabee to approve the minutes <br /> of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion carried. <br /> 4 ) Terry Maurer presented to the Commissioners with a change order <br /> which would decrease the total cost of the filtration plant at the <br /> west well. Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson to award <br /> the contract for the treatment plant at Well #4 to Richmar <br /> Construction, Inc. , who was the low bidder, in the amount of <br /> $477, 110. The motion is contingent upon the acceptance by the <br /> contractor of Change Order #1 which would decrease the contract <br /> price to $384, 365 . The motion carried. <br /> 5) A recommendation by Maier Stewart & Associates which would require <br /> developers to extend water taps all the way to the lot side of the <br /> easement. Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson, to <br /> request the City to require this on all future plats. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> 6) Bill Rubin of the City of Elk River presented the Commissioners <br /> with a proposal to possibly participate in the development of <br /> future industrial land in Elk River. The Commissioners conveyed <br /> to Mr. Rubin their willingness to cooperate in some way, however <br /> they asked him to come back when something more concrete is in the <br /> works. <br /> 7 ) The General Manager reported that two residents at Boston and <br /> County Road 30 complained that the new street light was too <br /> bright. The offending light isthe smallest one we have <br /> available. <br />
