Encourage urban design strategies that utilize the natural environment <br /> to save heating and cooling costs (solar energy), snow removal expenses <br /> (living snow fence) or storm sewer development (rainwater gardens, <br /> cisterns, rooftop gardens.) <br /> 18. Use the development process to obtain information about natural land <br /> features. <br /> Community Facilities <br /> 1. Provide adequate public facilities to protect the health, safety and welfare <br /> of the community. <br /> 2. Cooperate with regional agencies to achieve efficiencies in the provision <br /> • of services that may cross jurisdictional boundaries. <br /> 3. Cooperate and facilitate the planning and development of school <br /> facilities to serve growth in the community and better integrate school <br /> facilities with neighborhoods. <br /> 4. Work with the School District to reuse facilities no longer needed for <br /> public education. <br /> 5.
