• History
In April 2002 the City received an application to rezone the Ron's Foods property from R4
(Multiple Family Residential)to C3 (Highway Commercial).Along with that application the
City reviewed an application for a conditional use permit to allow an indoor go-cart track. In
May 2002 the Planning Commission reviewed these two applications and recommended
approval of both. In June 2002 the City Council considered the applications and denied
them.
In October 2002 the rezoning application was brought back before the Planning
Commission and the Commission recommended approval of the zone change to C3.The
City Council considered the request in November 2002 and voted to table the application.
The Council then asked staff, the Planning Commission and the Comprehensive Plan
Update Task Force to begin an analysis of the area around Ron's Foods in order to
determine the appropriate future land uses and zoning. The Council,in order to protect the
integrity of the planning process, approved a moratorium on land use applications in this
area. The moratorium will last approximately six months.
Action
Please come prepared to discuss your views on the future land uses and zoning in this area.
Staff will also be presenting different development concepts for your review and comments.
III
•
