Radon Mitigation. <br />All new residential structures are required to have a passive or active radon mitigation system. <br />Please provide plans(s), sections and details of the system that will be installed. Indicate <br />locations/requirements on the Foundation Plan (or other applicable plan). Please address. <br /> <br /> Applicability; Residential Structures. The purpose of parts 1303.2400 to 1303.2402 is <br />to establish minimum requirements for passive radon control systems that apply to all <br />new residential structures listed in items A to H: [MR 1303.2400, Subp. 1] <br /> <br /> A. One-family dwellings; <br /> B. Two-family dwellings; <br /> C. Townhouses; <br /> D. Apartment buildings; <br /> E. Condominiums; <br /> F. Multistory buildings that include any residential occupancy; <br /> G. Mixed-occupancy buildings that include any residential occupancy; and <br /> H. Any addition to an existing dwelling that currently has a radon control system <br /> incorporated into the existing building. <br /> <br />If a fan is installed in a passive radon control system, this creates an active radon control <br />system that must comply with the requirements of parts 1303.2400 to 1303.2403. <br /> <br />2. Access and Service Space. <br />Please confirm that adequate space is provided for servicing appliances. <br /> <br /> Access for Maintenance and Replacement. Appliances shall be accessible for <br />inspection, service, repair and replacement without disabling the function of a fire- <br />resistance-rated assembly or removing permanent construction, other appliances, venting <br />systems or any other piping or ducts not connected to the appliance being inspected, <br />serviced, repaired or replaced. A level working space at least 30 inches deep and 30 <br />inches wide shall be provided in front of the control side to service an appliance. [IMC <br />306.1] <br /> <br />3. HVAC Duct Dampers. <br />Do any ducts penetrate fire-resistant construction?
