Please confirm compliance. <br /> <br /> Fire Door and Shutter Assemblies. Approved fire door and fire shutter assemblies shall <br />be constructed of any material or assembly of component materials that conforms to the <br />test requirements of Section 716.5.1, 716.5.2 or 716.5.3 and the fire protection rating <br />indicated in Table 716.5. Fire door frames with transom lights, sidelights or both shall be <br />permitted in accordance with Section 716.5.6. Fire door assemblies and shutters shall be <br />installed in accordance with the provisions of this section and NFPA 80. [IBC 716.5] <br /> Installation. Where panic or fire exit hardware is installed, it shall comply with the <br />following: [IBC 1008.1.10.1] <br />1. Panic hardware shall be listed in accordance with UL 305; <br />2. Fire exit hardware shall be listed in accordance with UL 10C and UL 305; <br />3. The actuating portion of the releasing device shall extend at least one-half of <br /> the door leaf width; and <br />4. The maximum unlatching force shall not exceed 15 pounds. <br /> Swinging fire doors shall be permitted to be furnished separately from labeled door <br />frames and builders hardware if the complete fire door assembly, including the door, <br />frame, and builders hardware, comprise a labeled fire door assembly. [NFPA 80 <br />2010/2013 Section 4.3.2] <br /> Fire doors furnished with or prepared for fire exit hardware shall bear a label stating “Fire <br />Door to be Equipped with Fire Exit Hardware.” [NFPA 80 2010/2013 Section 4.3.3] <br /> Only labeled fire door hardware shall be used.” [NFPA 80 2010/2013 Section 7.4.3.1.1] <br /> <br />6. Fire-Resistant Construction Marking and Identification. <br />All new fire-resistant construction must be marked/identified as per IBC Section 707.7. <br />Please address. <br /> <br /> Fire walls, fire barriers, fire partitions, smoke barriers and smoke partitions or any other <br />wall required to have protected openings or penetrations shall be effectively and <br />permanently identified with signs or stenciling. Such identification shall: [IBC 703.7] <br />1. Be located in accessible concealed floor, floor-ceiling or attic spaces; <br />2. Be located within 15 feet of the end of each wall and at intervals not exceeding <br /> 30 feet measured horizontally along the wall or partition; and <br />3. Include lettering not less than 3 inches in height with a minimum 3/8 inch stroke <br /> in a contrasting color incorporating the suggested wording. "FIRE AND/OR <br /> SMOKE BARRIER—PROTECT ALL OPENINGS" or other wording. <br /> <br /> <br />Fire Alarm and Detection Systems Comments: <br /> <br />1. Group R-2 Occupancy. <br />A fire alarm system is required as per MR 1305.0907.2.9. Please confirm compliance.
