It <br />was the consensus of the Council to budget for a transfer of this <br />nature to the General Fund. and to request the same transfer of the <br />MuniCipal Utili ties. The item is to be researched further by the <br />City Administrator, as to specifics for inclusion in the Budget. <br /> <br />2 . Li braxy <br /> <br />The Library Board and the Library Administrator were present and <br />discussed the Library expenses with the members of the City Council. <br /> <br />3. Fire Department <br /> <br />Fire Chief Lloyd Barthel, was present and reviewed with the Council, <br />proposed expenditures for the Fire Department in 1979. One topic <br />discussed at some length was the request, by the Fire Department, for <br />a new pumper truck. Council discussed several alternative methods of <br />financing such a truck, including certificates of indebtedness, <br />general obligation bonds and development of an equipment Sinking fund. <br />Council consensus was that certificatea of indebtedness would be most <br />practical. However, the City Administrator and the Fire Chief were <br />directed to further pursae. the payment and delivery schedules <br />~~,',!le.9~s~~ i,!l. i;he.::wrcp.a.~e ,of_ a. pumper truck. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Peterson Property Improvement Petition <br /> <br />Mr. Greg Pederson, a resident of the Peterson Addition. spoke to the <br />Members of the City Council concerning a petition for a road improvement <br />in the Peterson Addition. Mr. Pederson questioned the Council on several <br />items, largely of a proceduzal nature in developing or proceeding with <br />the petition for the road improvement. A question arose concerning the <br />requirements for a railroad crossing necessary for access to the property <br />and the approximate cost of such a crossing. This item is to be researched <br />further by the ei ty Administrator. Mr. Pederson indicated that the home- <br />owners would consider the information he had obtained at the Council Meeting <br />and would return to the Council with a petition for a road improvement <br />in the area. <br /> <br />~./ <br /> <br />7. Liquor Store <br /> <br />Councilman Toth asked that this item be placed on the agenda so that the <br />Council could be informed of the Liquor Store's financial status for the <br />year. The City Administrator informed the members of the Council that the <br />inventory figures were not yet complete and should be received in approxi- <br />mately one to two days. Once those numbers were available, the financial <br />status could be determined with a great deal more accuracy. It was the con- <br />sensus of the Council to table any action on the item until the inventory <br />figures were available. <br />
