Two individuals, Mrs. <br />Dzuik and Mr. Cooley, both of Evans Ave., were known to have difficulties with <br />the sod in their yards as a result of the project. COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM mVED <br />THAT THE CITY ENGINEER CORRECT THE PROBIEM WITH SOD AND BLACK, TOP. Change Order for Lift Station <br /> <br />City Engineer, Lyle Swanson explained the two items in the Change Order for the <br />Lift Station. The net result of the add on for electrical work and the reduction <br />for a bronze plaque was a net reduction in the project of $51.65 from the contract. <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED THAT THE CHANGE ORDER BE APPROVED, COUNCILMAN TOTH <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. G:)'ant Application <br /> <br />\ <br />: ) <br />'''-./ <br /> <br />City Engineer, Lyle Swanson made a brief presentation to the Council on the <br />submission of a Step 213 grant to the United States Envioronmental Protection <br />Agency. Mr. Swanson explained that the existing sewer lines have some leaks, <br />that some lines are in need of replacement, that some man holes need repair work, <br />and that fixing these problems was a requirement of the receiving the Step 1 <br />grant from the E.P.A. for the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mr. Swanson indicated <br />, that approval of the grant by the E.P.A. is automatic and should pose no problems. <br />He indicated further that the work would be done in 1979. COUNCILMAN TOTH <br />MOVED APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF THE GRANT APPLICATION <br />DRAFTED BY MCCOMBS-KNUTSON ENGINEERING [ATTACHED]. Zimmerman Electronics <br /> <br />~ -' ~ <br />The City Administrator gave a brief presentation to the Council regarding the <br />problem with the property at 17441 W. Hwy #10, which a Mr. Doug Pitzele of <br />Zimmerman Electronics wishes to lease. The Administrator explained that the <br />present building permit which the owner claims to be valid is not in fact valid <br />and the building does not comply with the uniform building code. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended that the owner, Mr. Floyd Kruse, be allowed <br />30 days to begin construction to bring the building up to the, code requirements, <br />and an additional 30 days to complete construction on the building if constructior-, <br />is begun within the first 30 days. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED APPROVAL OF THE,J <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION WITH THE EFFECTIVE DATE FOR BEGINNmG OF <br />CONSTRUCTION SET AT AUGUST 10 AND THE FINAL DATE FOR COMPLETION, IF THE PROJECT <br />IS STARTED PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 10, SET AT OCTOBER 10, MOTION SECONDED BY COUNCIL- <br />MAN ENGSTROM. MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br />
