Status of downtown redevelopment efforts <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated he had met with George Dietz and Zack Johnson <br />regarding the progress of Mr. Dietz's development project. The City Adminis- <br />trator indicated that Mr. Dietz was waiting for the City to make some decisions <br />regarding the development. The City Administrator indicated he suggested to <br />Mr. Dietz to bring the plans of his development to the Planning Commission <br />and City Council and to work very closely with each in the planning process <br />of his development. The City Administrator also indicated Fisher/Coughlan & <br />Associates were looking at the downtown area and would be presenting their <br />ideas to the Downtown Development Implementation Committee at 4:00 p.m., <br />January 31, 1980, in the community room at the First National Bank. <br /> <br />B. Tamarack Final Plat <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that Mr. Carson of Carson Homes would be <br />appearing before the Planning Commission on their January 28th meeting for final <br />approval of the Tamarack plat. The City Administrator further indicated a <br />developer's agreement would be necessary before the City Council could give <br />final approval. The City Administrator indicated the plat contains 72 acres <br />of park consisting of ball fields, picnic area, walkways, natural areas and <br />parking. The City Administrator indicated Mr. Carson would be appearing <br />before the City Council in February for final approval. <br /> <br />C. Part-time Accounting Clerk <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that Kris Casey had been hired for the part- <br />time accounting clerk, and that she had the necessary experience for the posi- <br />tion and appeared to be working out well. Councilman Duitsman requested to <br />be kept informed on how many hours were required for the work. <br /> <br />D. Status of Orono Dam <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that the DNR had given their approval <br />to the proposal and the engineering work was on schedule. The City Adminis- <br />trator indicated that the specifications and contract for .the radial gates <br />were ready because of the lead time necessary for manufacturing of the gates. <br />Mayor Madsen asked when the specifications would be ready for the project. <br />The City Administretor indicated they would be ready for approval by the 2nd <br />City Council meeting in February. Mayor Madsen suggested speeding it up to the <br />first meeting if at all possible. <br /> <br />E. Status of 101 bridge <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated he and the Wright County engineer had inter- <br />viewed three engineering firms; namely, Strgar Roscoe; Howard Needle, Tammen, <br />Bergendorr; and Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson. The City Administrator fur- <br />ther indicated the City and Wright County were working on a financial agreement <br />with Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson and would be making a formal recommenda- <br />tion to the City Council in the near future. <br /> <br />F. Liquor Store Profit and Loss <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated the Profit and Loss Statement for the liquor <br />store had not been completed at this time. <br />
