COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED TO AP- <br />PROVE THE ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS TO SECTION 90Q.08. SECTION 900.12 AND <br />SECTION 900.08~SUBDIVISION 38. COUNCILMAN SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />7. Elk River Machine Company Variance Request <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that, as according to his memorandum of <br />July 31, 1981, regarding Elk River Machine Company's request for a variance, it <br />was determined by City staff that a variance was not necessary for the proposed <br />~ building addition to the Elk River Machine Company building. <br /> <br />8. Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Change Order No.1 <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Change Order for the sanitary sewer <br />interceptor in the amount of $7,575.00 consisted of an amount of $4,500.00 for <br />moving the sewer line from the Schoo1view Addition to Outlot A; an amount of <br />$1,200.00 to add another gate valve to the water main in the Schoo1view Addition and <br />to relocate a hydrant; and an amount of $1,875.00 for some excavation quantities <br />for that section of the line that will be a force main behind the school area. <br />The City Administrator explained that the elevations used in the design were wrong <br />and that the elevations of the property are actually higher; therefore, requiring <br />more excavation. COUNCILMAN SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 FOR THE <br />SANITARY SEWER INTERCEPTOR IN THE. AMOUNT &F AN ADDITIONAL $7,575.00. COUNCILMAN <br />ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 2-0. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN AB- <br />STAINED. <br /> <br />9. Final Payment for Salk Junior High Watermain Extension <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the final pay estimate in the amount of <br />$1,817.08 has been approved by the Cityts Engineer; McCombs, Knutson and Asso~ <br />ciates, and recommended approval by the City Council. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN,'MOVED <br />APPROVAL OF THE FINAL PAY ESTIMATE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,817.08 FOR THE SALK JUNIOR <br />HIGH WATERMAIN PROJECT. COUNCILMAN' ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />10. 1981 Sewer User Rates <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that in reviewing the year-end projections for <br />the Sewer Department for 1981, it is projected that the expenditures should be <br />approximately $137,800.00 and the anticipated total revenue should be approximately <br />$136,600.00, leaving a projected fund balance of approximately $11,000.00 to <br />$12,000.00. The City Administrator indicated that a rate change of approximately <br />16.6% in the sewer users fees is recommended to increase the ending fund balance <br />from the projected $11,000.00 to $12,000.00 to approximately $17,000.00 to <br />$18,000.00. <br /> <br />Councilman Duitsman suggested that the City Council consider the proposed hook- <br />ups for the new sanitary sewer interceptor and further suggested that the rate <br />change be not more than a 10% increase.
