Update on February 20, 2001 City Council Meeting <br /> This item was postponed to the March 13, 2001 workshop. <br /> 6.3. Letter to and from Courtney Field <br /> No discussion on this issue. <br /> 6.4. Comment on Ordinance Amendment Regarding Application of Lawn Fertilizer <br /> Steve Rohlf, Building & Zoning Administrator, reviewed the proposed ordinance <br /> amendment which would allow the city to regulate the application of lawn <br /> fertilizer. He explained that the ordinance is specifically aimed at reducing <br /> phosphorus, which increases the intensity and duration of algae bloom in Lake <br /> Orono. The Commissioners expressed their support for the ordinance <br /> amendment. <br /> Ms. McPherson stated that City Attorney Peter Beck will be meeting with the <br /> Commission on March 13th. She noted that she will be contacting the <br /> Commissioners to set up the annual meeting when she is back from the National <br /> Conference. <br /> Ms. McPherson explained that this is Commissioner Chambers' last meeting. She <br /> introduced Doug Franz as the new Commissioner. <br /> • 8. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, COMMISSIONER BAKER MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br /> MEETING. COMMISSIONER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION.
