The ordinance amendment would affect Sections 900.34 <br /> and 900.42 of the Zoning Code. <br /> • Location <br /> City-wide <br /> Attachments <br /> • 1999 Law Summaries, LMC Cities Bulletin <br /> • Propose Ordinance Language <br /> Analysis <br /> The 1999 Legislature removed amortization as a tool for cities to remove <br /> nonconforming or undesireable land uses. This requires cities to more closely monitor <br /> the time frames established in their ordinances in regards to discontinued <br /> nonconforming uses. <br /> Currently, in Sections 900.34 (Non Conforming Uses) and 900.42 (Conditional Uses), <br /> the ordinance states: <br /> " In the event that a nonconforming use of any building <br /> or premises is discontinued or its normal operation <br /> stopped for a period of one year, the use of the same <br /> 13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
