Steering Committee Minutes Page 5
May 25, 1994
S Z PPig FED
• The gravel mining area north of 197th Avenue should be given consideration
for industrial opportunities after the mining is completed.
• A mix of light, medium, and business park industrial opportunities should be
provided throughout the community.
• There appears to be adequate property zoned for Business Park purpose,
however, additional property zoned for light and medium industrial is needed.
• It is recognized that industrial development typically occurs slower than
commercial. Therefore, prior to rezoning industrial property for some other
immediate use, additional industrial should be added to the inventory.
The next meeting of the Elk River Steering Committee is scheduled for July 14,
1994, at 7 p.m. Discussion will be regarding commercial development.
Steve Ach announced a new member that will be joining the Steering
Committee, Keith Holme, representing the Chamber of Commerce.
There being no further business, he meeting of the Elk River Steering Committee
adjourned at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
StevenA
• City Planner
110
