Call Meeting To Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Steering <br /> Committee was called to order at 7:08 p.m. by Chairman Minton. <br /> 2. Consider Steering Committee Agenda <br /> • The agenda was accepted with no additions or subtractions. <br /> 3. Introduction <br /> Chairman Minton introduced Steering Committee members. <br /> Chairman Minton indicated a letter from Tony Emmerich has been submitted with <br /> comments relative to his property south of Highway 10 along Joplin Street. This <br /> letter was entered into the record. <br /> First item on agenda to approve minutes on last months meeting was tabled to <br /> the next meeting. <br /> Chairman Minton emphasized the importance of the industrial sector because it <br /> gives us the biggest tax base for the community. <br /> Basic questions involved: <br /> 1. How much industrial land should the City plan for. <br /> 2. What kind of characteristics should industrial land have. <br /> 3. Is the land and zoning we have now appropriate, if not, where should it <br /> be and do we need more. <br /> Chairman Minton called on staff and Pat Dwyer to discuss industrial <br /> development of the community. <br /> • Pat Dwyer stated that it is his intention as a representative of the Elk River EDA, to <br /> address the issue of industrial development in Elk River.
