<br />",.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />December 17, 1984 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle indicated that the City Council gave preliminary approval to the <br />Barthel PUD for issuance of industrial revenue bonds in October of 1981. Mayor <br />Hinkle further indicated that the project would not be feasible without the <br />industrial revenue bonds. <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on regarding the value of the industrial revenue bonds. <br />The City Administrator indicated that the bonds will be issued in the amount of <br />$2,200,000 for Parcel A only. <br /> <br />Mr. John Griese, Attorney for Barthel, indicated that the letter from Mr. Barthel <br />indicating that the project would not be feasible without the issuance of indus- <br />trial revenue bonds would be a part of the documents, as requested by Mr. Steve <br />Solomon of the Larkin Hoffman lawfirm. <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on regarding the maturity dates for the equipment and <br />leasehold improvements. Discussion was also carried on regarding the clause <br />in the documents discussion tax exempt interest. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE FINAL RESOLUTION, RESOLUTION 84-30, <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $3,400,000 IN INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BOND <br />NOTES FOR THE BARTHEL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT SHOPPING CENTER. COUNCILMEMBER <br />GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />! <br /> <br />8. Turner Variance - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mr. Arlon Fuchs, representative of the Planning Commission, indicated that Mr. Wade <br />Turner of 1854 Main Street, has .requested a variance to place an addition onto his <br />current home, which would be approximately 25 feet from the road right-of-way. <br />Mr. Fuchs indicated that Mr. Turner has requested the setback variance to allow <br />him to remove a portion of his existing home and put a new addition to the home <br />in the same location. Mr. Fuchs further indicated that the addition will be <br />~he same distance from the road right-of-way as the main portion of the home. <br />Mr. Fuchs indicated that the Planning Commission considered Mr. Turner's request <br />at their November 20, 1984 Planning Commission meeting and voted unanimously to <br />approve the variance request. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle opened the public hearing. No one appeared for or in opposition of <br />the variance request. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE A VARIANCE REQUEST BY MR. WADE TURNER OF <br />1854 MAIN STREET TO PLACE AN ADDITION TO HIS CURRENT HOME APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET <br />FROM THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />~. Gerber Variance - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mr. Arlon Fuchs, representative of the Planning Commission indicated that Mr. <br />Charles Gerber of 20418 Auburn Street, has requested a variance to allow him to <br />maintain an accessory building in the required front yard setback of his property. <br />Mr. Fuchs indicated that Gerber's accessory building encroaches in the front yard <br />setback by approximately 15 feet.
