<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />June 25, 1984 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />--, <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />The City Council discussed the item further and indicated their concerns re- <br />garding sewer in the area and the possible need for a service road at a future <br />date. There was a concern that Mn/DOT would close the Highway #10 access to <br />Simonet Drive and as such; this right-of-way would be required for future service <br />road construction to that area. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO DENY THE EASEMENT VACATION REQUEST. COUNCILMEMBER <br />ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />5. Prairie House Administrative Subdivision <br /> <br />The City Administrator reviewed the Prairie House Administrative Subdivision re- <br />quest. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br />Gary Santwire was present and asked about documentation for the administrative <br />subdivision for the real estate transaction. The City Administrator indicated <br />that sufficient documentation would be provided to satisfy the owners of the <br />Prairie House. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE ADMINISTRATIVE SUBDIVISION AS RECOM~ <br />MENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR. COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />6. Ridgewood Estates Road Repair/Resurfacing <br /> <br />The City Administrator reviewed the Capital Improvement Program as it relates <br />to the Ridgewood Estates road rebuilding and indicated that the plan was to <br />take action on the roads at a future date and not in calendar year 1984. <br />Mr. John Gilbertson of Consulting Engineers Diversified explained a soils test- <br />ing report recently received by the City on the area, and indicated that an over- <br />lay of various thicknesses could probably be utilized in the majority of the <br />Ridgewood Estates area. <br /> <br />Tony Rudy, Jim Pellicciotti, and Gene Zappa were present to represent the Ridge- <br />wood Estates homeowners. The homeowners indicated that they were pleased to <br />see the revised information which would then lower the cost to rebuild the roads <br />and indicated that they felt something needed to be done about the roads and very <br />soon. Tony Rudy indicated that they City should be responsible for the repairs, <br />inasmuch as the residents were promised that the roads would be taken care of as <br />part of the consolidation effort. <br /> <br />The City Administrator reviewed budget constraints, the City's street maintenance <br />policies and other financial considerations for the benefit of the homeowners. <br />
