Check Register <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE MAY 14, 1984 CHECK REGISTER. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />5. Beautification Committee <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle indicated that representatives of the Beautification <br />Committee were present to discuss two of the Beautification Committee <br />projects. Mayor Hinkle further indicated that students from the Alliance <br />Church were performing a clean-up campaign for the community. Mayor <br />Hinkle indicated that he felt the workathon for cleaning up the community <br />was a very good idea and suggested that the City Administrator send a <br />thank-you note to the students at the Alliance Church. <br /> <br />Discussion was then carried on regarding the proposed purchase of an <br />eagle for the flagpole. Mag Johnson indicated that Mr. and Mrs. Joe <br />Flagherty expressed their intent to donate the money for the eagle for <br />the flagpole. The City Administrator indicated that the City would <br />purchase the eagle to save sales tax. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO AUTHORIZE A CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$1471 .00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN EAGLE FOR THE FLAGPOLE. COUCILMEMBER <br />GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />General discussion was carried on regarding the base IQf the base of the <br />flagpole, the cleanup of the area around Marty's Auto ancFEIk River Meats. <br /> <br />Further discussion was also carried on regarding the clean up of the <br />bank along Highway #10 from UPA to the City Hall property. It was the <br />consensus that the Beautification Committee research means of cleaning <br />up the bank along Highway 1110. <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED THAT THE <br />MEETING BE ADJOURNED.
