<br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />REGULAR WEEKLY SCHEDULED MEETING OF THE <br />ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />JULY 18, 1983 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Hinkle, Councilmembers Engstrom, Schuldt and Gunkel <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Duitsman <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Hinkle <br /> <br />2. Agenda <br /> <br />Item 3~, Correction to the June 20th Minutes and Item l7d, Mrs. Nickerson property, <br />were added to the July 18, 1983, City Council Agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE JULY 18, 1983, CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTIONi.; THE MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />3 . Minu tes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JULY 5, 1983, CITY <br />COUNCIL MEETING, COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />3~. Minutes Amendment <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the amendment to the minutes of the June 20, <br />1983 City Council meeting was to clarify the specific dimensions of the area that <br />was rezoned. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AMENDMENT FOR THE JUNE 20, 1983, <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Johnson questioned the possibility of publishing the minutes in the local <br />newspaper. Discussion was carried on regarding the possibility of publishing the <br />minutes in the local newspaper. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Staff would look into the <br />cost of publishing the minutes and any other alternatives that might be explored re- <br />garding the availability of the minutes to the general public. <br /> <br />5. Piwowar Reques-t:::E6r.. Zone Change - Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle indicated that Mr. Walter Piwowar has requested a zone change for the <br />property known as the Hesley House at 527 Tipton from an R-lc/Single Family to an <br />R-3/Multiple Family Townhouse zone. Mayor Hinkle indicated that the Planning Com- <br />mission voted to unanimously recommend that the request for an R-3,'zonec.hahg~ .be <br />denied. <br />
