<br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />June 6, 1983 <br />Page Eleven <br /> <br />2,000 square feet requ~r~ng something to be done, either blacktop or <br />concrete. Mr. Hals indicated that blacktop would cost approximately <br />$1,000 and that concrete would cost approximately $2,500. Mr. Hals <br />indicated that a 5" curb could be put in on the blacktop side and the <br />concrete would then be tapered down to the curb on the street side, or a <br />blacktop curb could be put in and blacktop filled in to the curb on the <br />street side. Mr. Hals indicated that he felt within two years, the <br />Jackson Street would need to be improved which would also involve the <br />section between the street and the downtown parking lot. <br /> <br />It was the consensus that Mr. Phil Hals present a specific recommendation <br />to the City Council at the next City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />G. League of Cities Conference <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the League of Cities Conference is <br />scheduled for the week of June 14-17 and that if any of the members of the <br />Council are interested in participating, they should contact the City <br />Administrator as he will be going back and forth to the conference. <br /> <br />H. Recreational Events for Handicapped People <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that Maynard Woodbury from Ramsey is working <br />on getting a group of volunteers together to promote a recreational event <br />for handicapped people, and asked that someone from the City of Elk River <br />serve on that committee. <br /> <br />16. Check Register <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE JUNE 6, 1983, CHECK REGISTER. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />17. Tentative Agenda <br /> <br />Ridgewood roads, dog control and City legal services are items tentatively <br />scheduled for the June 13, 1983, City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED THAT THE MEETING <br />BE ADJOURNED. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION.
