The Building and Zoning Administ~ator
indicated that the restaurant would have two drive UP ser-
vice windows to keep traffic moving. Rick Breezee further
indicated that he had spoken to the City Engineer and the
City Street Superintendent and they had stated that they had
no problem with the traffic situation and it was further
indicated that hopefully the City would be looking at seeing
a stop light put UP at the intersection in approximatelY 2 1/2
Years. The Building and Zoning Administrator indicated that
he had spoken with Mr. Dave Flannery of the School District
and he noted that he did not get a positive or negative
reaction from Mr. Flannery. However, Mr. Flannery did state
that they would rather see an inlet only.

Discussion was held regarding the on off entrance for the
Burger King Restaurant on School Street. Discussion was
also held regarding another entrance and exit off the rear
portion of the shopping center parkin, lot. Councilmember
Gunkel noted that Freeport Avenue could probably use a stop
light. It was noted that instead of a stop lisht perhaps
the area could be policed more frequently. Councilmember
Schuldt felt that when a squad car. is there changes will be
made, but when the squads are not pre~ent things would be
bad: to norma 1.

Signage was discussed. Mr. Dolphin stated that the sign
would be about the same size as McDonalds and would be a 50
foot pole with ~ 12' bv 12' sign on it. Commissioner Warner
noted he would not like to see the sign so close to the
corner because of traffic conditions. Mr. Dolphin further
stated that they were requesting an 8' by 8' pylon sign with
the Burger King logo on it and would also include on the
sign a 4' x 8' reader board. He further stated this sign
would be 25' in height.

Councilmember Gunkel noted that the Council only allowed one
free standing pylon sign for the shoppins center. Chairman
Tralle noted that the City Council and Planning Commission
also only allowed one sign for Food N Fuel.

Discussion was held regardin, landscaping. The Building and
Zoning Administrator noted that at previous times the City
Council and Planning Commission had left landscaping up ~o
the discretion of the City Staff.

The second sign was discussed. Mr. Dolphin noted that
instead of an 8' bv 8' pvl~n sign, a smaller sign of 6' x 6'
with a 20' pole could be installed. Commissioner
Warner noted that he had no problem with the smaller sign.
Commissoner Wilson stated he concurred with Commissioner
Warner. It was further stated that the sign be no closer
half way between the driveway and the intersection.
