Minutes - 2 - December 10, 1996 • <br /> • Letter to former SAC members <br /> Letter was sent, need to make sure that meeting minutes are sent to all <br /> members. <br /> • Project is on schedule <br /> • Discussed ability to include the effects of: <br /> - Opening of TH 15 bridge <br /> - Reconstruction of TH 101 (2 to 4 lanes) <br /> City of Elk River <br /> • City has doubled sewer capacity to accommodate future growth. One <br /> additional expansion can be done on existing site. <br /> • City/area may be over-built in terms of retail. <br /> • Future industrial areas are located around government center and east of <br /> • <br /> TH 169 along TH 10 corridor. <br /> • East-west corridor issue has raised a lot of concerns in northern portion of <br /> City. <br /> • The rail crossing through town are an issue, close intersections. <br /> • The lack of a north-south connection on the western side of town is a concern. <br /> • City has been working with Mn/DOT to locate future signals along TH 10 and <br /> TH 169. <br /> • Plan should address opportunities for transit. <br /> • City of Elk River will follow Met Council's recommendation of limiting <br /> growth in the City. <br /> St. Cloud Issues: <br /> • Many environmental constraints near airport so development adjacent to it <br /> will be very limited. Also, proposed golf course would conflict with airport • <br /> expansion <br />
