Budget Completion <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council would finalize <br />the 1985 budget at their February 25. 1985 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />C. Miscellaneous <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Heavenly Hills assessment trial <br />had started with most of the day being used by witnesses for the other side. <br />The City Administrator indicated that the City had one appraiser. one resident, <br />Mr. John Gilbertson, and himself testify, and further indicated that he would <br />testify again the next day along with one more appraiser. The City Administra- <br />tor indicated that the judge does not want to waste any time. is interested in <br />only the facts and is very anxious to get the testimony over. <br /> <br />D. Consideration of Engineering Services <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle requested the City Council's oplnlon regarding engineering services. <br />Councilmember Engstrom questioned the City's responsibility to CED regarding <br />the road improvement in the Industrial Park. The City Administrator indicated <br />that it was the City Council's discretion to change engineers at any time, if <br />the change is warranted. <br /> <br />General discussion was carried on regarding the proposal from Terry Mauer of <br />Maier Stewart and the proposed change in engineers at Consulting Engineers <br />Diversified. The City Administrator indicated that Consulting Engineers <br />Diversified is interested in talking to the City Council as is a representative <br />from TKDA regarding engineering services. <br /> <br />Councilmember Engstrom indicated that the engineering firm of Maier Stewart <br />offers Terry Mauer. an engineer that knows the City and has rapport with the <br />citizens in the community. Further discussion was carried on regarding the <br />selection of an engineering firm. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF ELK RIVER TO ENTER INTO <br />AN AGREEMENT WITH MAIER STEWART FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH THOSE ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY MR. TERRY MAUER. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. COUNCILME:MBERWILLIAMS ABSTAINED. <br /> <br />14. Check Register <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS MOVED TO APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 11TH CHECK REGISTER. COUNCIL- <br />MEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />15. Tentative Agenda <br /> <br />The Beautification Committee and the budget are items tentatively scheduled for the <br />February 25th City Council meeting. <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION.
