Memo to Planning Commission/0A96-2 Page 7
April 23, 1996
• Recommendation
When staff began researching ways to amend the ordinance to accommodate
development prior to adequate utilities being available, there was some
optimism there could be a compromising resolution. However, the more this
issue was researched the clearer it became growth management is good
public policy and should be continued.
The development of a community is a multi-faceted effort cutting across
social, environmental, cultural and economic disciplines. These are not
independent of one another; rather "tied together".
Staff would recommend at this point no change be made to the current
ordinance. Waiting for the appraisal and public hearing to be completed may
shed new light on this entire matter. Therefore, no change is recommended.
•
•
s:\planning\pc\oa96-2xx.doc
