<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />SPECIAL BUDGET MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 25. 1986 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Hinkle. Councilmembers Gunkel. Tralle. Schuldt and <br />Engstrom <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Pat Klaers. City Administrator and Lori Johnson. Finance <br />Director <br /> <br />1. Mayor Hinkle called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. & Mrs. Medenwaldt were present regarding the Ridgewood Overlay <br />Project. The City Administrator informed the Council that in order for <br />the project to be cancelled the total cost would be $20.000 which could <br />not be recovered. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle noted that the proper steps were taken regarding the project <br />and stated he felt the project should be completed. <br /> <br />Dan Greene was present and discussed insurance options for the City of <br />Elk River. He indicated he had received quotes from all insurance <br />companies who would bid insurance packages for municipalities. Mr. <br />Greene compared the City's 1985/86 rates with League insurance and <br />Marinco insurance. Mr. Greene noted that the League insurance was <br />definitely the lowest and recommended the City go with the bid package <br />from the League. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO AUTHORIZE DAN GREENE TO AWARD THE BID FOR <br />CITY INSURANCE TO THE LEAGUE. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />At this time the 1987 Special Levies were discussed. <br /> <br />Library <br /> <br />The City Administrator noted that an overhead projector had been budgeted <br />for in the Library budget. He noted the projector would be available for <br />use to the public at the Library. but that City would have first option <br />to use the projector and further that the City will be responsible for <br />the repair of the projector. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED <br />AT $45.750. COUNCILMEMBER <br />PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />TO APPROVE THE LIBRARY BUDGET AS PRESENTED <br />ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> <br />Dutch Elm <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br />AT $15.150. <br />PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />TRALLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE DUTCH ELM BUDGET AS PRESENTED <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION.
