PAGE 3 City Council Minutes August 11. 1986 e SA. Street Crew Summer Help The Street Superintendent indicated he had hired 4 young people through a summer youth employment program. Two workers are scheduled to leave 8/15 and two others are scheduled to leave 8/29. Parking on 191st Lane OOUNCltMIMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE POSTING OF NO PARKING SIGNS FROM 2 6 A.M. IN THE AREA OF 1915T LANE AND ALSON ON HIGm.AND AND tANESBOROUGH HEIGHTS. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4- O. 5C. Rezoning Procedure e Discussion was held concerning the proposed M-Vale plat regarding the zoning of the area. The M-Vale Plat is requesting a rezoning from A-1 to R-1a. This will leave 80 acres of A-1 land surrounded entirely by R-1a v land. If the M-Vale rezoning is approved. the Council requested the staff to proceed with rezoning the remaining 80 acres to R-1a. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY STAFF TO PROCEED WITH A ZONE CHANGE FROM A-1 TO R-1a FOR PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF THE M-VALE PLAT. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. 6. Street Department Building Update Street Superintendent. Phil Hals. presented the Council with a blue print layout of the street department garage. Discussion was held on the type of roofing and walls with which the building would be constructed. The Street Superintendent indicated the plans and specifications would be complete by August 25 and that bids would be opened September 9. 1986. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 86-53 A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE LEASE WITH OPTION TO PURCHASE OF A PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE; GIVING APPROVAL THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. ~ 7A. Street Department Employee Retirement The Street Superintendent informed the City Council that he would be advertising for another street department employee to replace Leroy Pike who would be retiring in November 1986.
