Street Crew Summer Help <br /> <br />The Street Superintendent indicated he had hired 4 young people through <br />a summer youth employment program. Two workers are scheduled to leave <br />8/15 and two others are scheduled to leave 8/29. IN THE AREA OF 1915T LANE AND ALSON ON HIGm.AND AND <br />tANESBOROUGH HEIGHTS. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION PASSED 4- O. <br /> <br />5C. Rezoning Procedure <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Discussion was held concerning the proposed M-Vale plat regarding the <br />zoning of the area. The M-Vale Plat is requesting a rezoning from A-1 to <br />R-1a. This will leave 80 acres of A-1 land surrounded entirely by R-1a v <br />land. If the M-Vale rezoning is approved. the Council requested the <br />staff to proceed with rezoning the remaining 80 acres to R-1a. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY STAFF TO PROCEED WITH <br />A ZONE CHANGE FROM A-1 TO R-1a FOR PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF THE <br />M-VALE PLAT. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />6. Street Department Building Update <br /> <br />Street Superintendent. Phil Hals. presented the Council with a blue print <br />layout of the street department garage. Discussion was held on the type <br />of roofing and walls with which the building would be constructed. <br /> <br />The Street Superintendent indicated the plans and specifications would be <br />complete by August 25 and that bids would be opened September 9. 1986. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 86-53 A RESOLUTION <br />RELATING TO THE LEASE WITH OPTION TO PURCHASE OF A PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE; <br />GIVING APPROVAL THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS <br />RELATING THERETO. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />~ 7A. Street Department Employee Retirement <br /> <br />The Street Superintendent informed the City Council that he would be <br />advertising for another street department employee to replace Leroy Pike <br />who would be retiring in November 1986. <br />
