AUGUST 11. 1986 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Hinkle. Councilmembers Gunkel. Williams. and Engstrom <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Pat Klaers. City Administrator; Lori Johnson. Finance <br />Director; Tom Zerwas. Police Chief; and Phil Hals. <br />Street Superintendent <br /> <br />1. The meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Hinkle at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of 8/11/86 Agenda <br /> <br />Item 7A - Street Employee Retirement was added to the agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br />AS AMENDED . <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />ENGSTROM MOVED TO APPROVE THE 8/11/86 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA <br />COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> <br />3. Consideration of 7/29/86 and 8/4/86 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 7/29/86 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AS <br />SUBMITTED. COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 8/4/86 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AS <br />SUBMITTED. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />4A. <br /> <br />City Office Space <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the City leasing office space from the <br />Sherburne Lodge. Mayor Hinkle suggested that city staff tour the <br />building to see if there would be sufficient space for the Elk River City <br />Offices. <br />Councilmember Gunkel noted that <br />Assembly of God Church status once <br />the church to the Sherburne Lodge. <br />staff to check into the legalities <br /> <br />she would like staff to check the <br />again in order to compare the price of <br />Councilmember Gunkel further directed <br />of the City leasing a building. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council that the Council meet at 6:30 <br />p.m. on August 25 to tour the building and also that Duane Kropuenske be <br />contacted so that the Citizen's Committee can be invited. <br /> <br />4B. Department Head Pay Plan <br /> <br />The City Administrator presented the City Council with a department head <br />pay plan. He indicated that the reason for the pay plan was to make <br />allocation of raises more consistent and easier to implement. <br />
