Report on Heating and Cooling System for Library <br /> <br />The City Administrator noted that Bill Pollard presented the Council <br />with a report on the heating and cooling system at the library. He <br />that estimated repairs to be done on the system is approximately <br />$15,000. He also indicated an annual service contract would be <br />$5,712.00 from Honeywell, who was the lowest bidder. <br /> <br />The City Council discussed the problem and consented that it would be <br />best to check into the cost of a totally new heating and cooling <br />system as opposed to paying $15,000 to repair the old one. <br /> <br />I. Delinquent Accounts <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO CONTINUE THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING PAST <br />12:00 MIDNIGHT. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />Lori Johnson, Finance Director had submitted a list to the Council of <br />delinquent bills. The City Administrator indicated Ms. Johnson had <br />contacted a collection agency and noted they would charge 25 - 30% of <br />the total amount collected, if they were hired by the City. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Council discussed the delinquent accounts. It was decided <br />that the amount owed by M&S ($3,406.96) was to be assessed out. It <br />was also noted that the false alarm bills were to be 'dismissed. The <br />Council requested that the amount owed by Bud Houlton should be <br />checked into, and the amount owed by James McEachern for the guard <br />rail be dropped due to the fact that it was such an old outstanding <br />bill . <br /> <br />MAYOR HINKLE MOVED TO HIRE PAT KLAERS AS THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR FOR <br />THE CITY OF ELK RIVER STARTING MAY 5, 1986, AT A SALARY OF $38,000 <br />WITH A REVIEW TO BE DONE AT SIX MONTHS. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />There being no further business, MAYOR HINKLE MOVED TO ADJOURN THE <br />MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION.
