Street Superintendent. indicated that in the 1986 budget he <br />had requested replacement for a motor grader. a 1965 model with 13.000 <br />hours on it. He indicated that he is aware of two or three used machines <br />1979 1980 models with 4.000 hours on them which are available. He <br />stated he would like authorization to go out for bids to see what is <br />available. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED <br />SUPERINTENDENT. TO GO OUT <br />ENGSTROM SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />TO AUTHORIZE PHIL HALS. <br />FOR BID S ON A MOTOR GRADER. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />THE STREET <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br /> <br />5. Consideration of Replacement of Police Sergeant Position <br /> <br />Tom Zerwas. Police Chief. indicated he was requesting authorization to <br />fill the Sergeants position which has been vacant since Sergeant Beahen <br />left in September 1985. He indicated that Corporal Rolfe was the officer <br />that scored highest during the testing process. and felt confident that <br />Corporal Rolfe would make an excellent sergeant. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO AUTHORIZE CHIEF ZERWAS TO APPOINT <br />CORPORAL ROLFE TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Aministrator's Update <br /> <br />A. Update on Joint Compensation Study and Department Head Salaries <br /> <br />The City Administrator stated that the Joint Compensation Study which <br />the City is involved in was supposed to be completed by now. but was <br />informed they now will not be completed until May. The City <br />Administrator indicated that the Council had decided to hold off <br />looking at Department head salary increases until informaton from the <br />Comparable Worth Study was received. He indicated he was also <br />holding off at looking at six month reviews until this time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gunkel <br />independently of the <br />chances are it could be <br /> <br />indicated she felt the City should go ahead <br />Comparable Worth Study due to the fact that <br />prolonged longer than May. <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that Fritz Dolejs. the Liquor Store <br />Manager was requesting a salary increase. It was the consensus of <br />the City Council to evaluate all Department Head salaries at one <br />time. <br /> <br />6B. Planning Commission Applications <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that an ad had been put in the <br />local newspaper to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission. He <br />indicated we had a good response to the ad with five people applying <br />
