Ken Norquist. Building <br />Official indicated that a possible solution would be to raise the <br />percentage of window coverage to 50% and anything over 50% would require <br />a sign permit. <br /> <br />Chuck Christian. Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs representative. <br />indicated that he would prefer to let the business people of Elk River <br />express their concern over this matter before a decision was made by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Arlon Fuchs expressed his concern regarding the enforcement problem with <br />allowing 25% window coverage and felt this should be increased. He also <br />stated he would like to see some type of window coverage clause in the <br />ordinance so the City would be able to enforce problems if they should <br />occur. <br /> <br />Stewart Wilson stated <br />ordinance as it is being <br />businesses were abusing <br />be a good time to include <br /> <br />he would like to see the <br />presented with the 25%. These changes were recorded by the Building and Zoning <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel closed the public hearing at this time. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 87-33. AN ORDINANCE <br />ADOPTING THE 1987 SIGN ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER WITH THE <br />REVISIONS MADE BY THE COUNCIL. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 87-73. A RESOLUTION <br />ESTABLISHING THE FOLLOWING SIGN PERMIT FEES: <br /> <br />1 - 100 SQ. FT. $30.00 <br />100 - 300 SQ. FT. - $90.00 <br />OVER 300 SQ. FT. - $150.00 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The Building and <br />changes in the Sign <br />summary on 12/7/87 <br />goes into effect. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator and City attorney will make the <br />Ordinance as directed and provide the Council with a <br />which will need to be published before the Ordinance <br />
