A brief discussion was held regarding Dodge Avenue Days which is to take <br />place June 20th. There was no consensus from the Council on this topic <br />as far as City participation. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />The Sherburne <br /> <br />was discussion <br />parade or have <br />automobile. etc. <br /> <br />County Fair Parade will be held Friday July 24th. There <br />as to whether or not the City Council would walk in the <br />a form of transportation: fire truck. hay rack. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />The Board of Review <br />accessible day for the <br />21st with Ty Bischoff. <br />suitable. <br /> <br />is proposed to meet on May 14th. This was not an <br />Council. so Pat Klaers will discuss May 7th or May <br />County Assessor to see if either of these dates is <br /> <br />10. The City Hall Open House is going to try to be planned along with Law <br />Enforcement Week which falls on either the second or third week of May. <br /> <br />Pat Klaers distributed a work project list which will be further <br />discussed at a future Council Meeting. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Adding Officer #11 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Tom Zerwas. Chief of Police. was present to request the hiring of an <br />Officer #11 be moved up from the original date of July 1st to May 1st or <br />15th. He also questioned the Council on the type of time frame they <br />are looking at for an Officer #12. <br /> <br />Mr. Zerwas also stated that with the additional Officer #11. a new squad <br />car would be needed. A request was planned for three (3) new squad cars <br />in 1988. With the purchase of a vehicle upon hiring of Officer #11. only <br />two(2) vehicles would be purchased in 1988. <br /> <br />Discussion was held among the Committee and Tom Zerwas in regards to the <br />reasoning for a new car. the early hiring of the officer. and the need <br />for an Officer #12. <br /> <br />It was the general consensus of the Council meeting to allow Mr. Zerwas <br />to begin the advertising process and this item will be brought before the <br />City Council at the March 23 Council Meeting. <br /> <br />13. Pat Klaers gave a brief presentation on the situation of an Economic <br />Development Coordinator. He suggested discussion take place on hiring an <br />experienced professional. establishing an entry level position. and the <br />role of consultants with the City. <br /> <br />14. A Growth Management meeting will be held at the New City Hall Conference <br />Hall on Monday. March 9th at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />15. There was an update given on the Landfill. Pat Klaers distributed a <br />hand-out to Councilmembers. discussed testing out at the landfill. and <br />County involvement regarding responsibilities. <br />
