Dave Sellergren. stated that the following sentence could <br />be added: "The City Council shall determine the amount to be required by <br />resolution from time to time." <br /> <br />cOUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE ORDINANCE 87-1 WITH THE STIPULATION <br />THAT WORDAGE PROVIDED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY BE ADDED. COUNCILMEMBER <br />TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.3. Discussion of Daycare Facilities <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The Building and Zoning Administrator noted that staff had been directed <br />by Council to research other communities to see how daycare facilities <br />are handled. He indicated he researched several communities and came up <br />with some recommendations. Discussion was held regarding Mr. Rohlf's <br />findings. Mr. Rohlf noted that in all cities daycares are allowed in <br />single family homes in all residential zones as a principal use if there <br />are ten or less children; they are allowed in all commercial zones as a <br />conditional use but not allowed at all in industrial zones. He further <br />noted that they are allowed as a conditional use in R-3 and R-4 zoned <br />areas. <br /> <br />Councilmember Tralle noted he felt if there were a large enough lot and <br />play area. daycares should be dealt with as a conditional use as opposed <br />to the requested an ordinance amendment. It was noted that the Planning <br />Commission will hold a public hearing on a possible zoning ordinance <br />amendment for daycare facilities on 1/27/87 and that any recommended <br />ordinance changes will come back to the City Council on 2/23/87. <br /> <br />7.1. Appointing Maier Stewart as City Engineers <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel indicated the City has gone through the "request for <br />proposal" process for an engineer which is necessary for applying for a <br />grant to financially assist the City with the construction of the needed <br />public improvements in the Industrial Park. She further noted that there <br />was only one response to the RFP and this response was from the City's <br />Engineer. Maier Stewart. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED TO APPROVE MAIER STEWART AND ASSOCIATES AS THE <br />ENGINEERS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL PARK PUBLIC . IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. <br />cOUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />7.2.
