<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />January 5. 1987 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />5.6.Appointment of Library Board <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel noted that Library Board member Norma Coleman could not be <br />reappointed because of State Law prohibiting members from serving more <br />than three consecutive terms. She further indicated that two people have <br />requested to serve on the Library board to replace Norma Coleman. <br /> <br />At this time the Council interviewed Elizabeth Kremer for the Library <br />Board Position. The Council informed Ms. Kremer that Mr. Darryl Bronniche <br />would be present next Monday night for an interview and that the Council <br />would inform her of their decision. <br /> <br />7.1.Consideration of Transient Merchant License for Mark Montagne/Public <br />Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel noted that Mr. Mark Montagne of Taylor Falls has applied for <br />a transient merchant license to sell frozen seafood from a one ton frozen <br />seafood truck. She noted that Mr. Montagne has not determined where he <br />will park his truck at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel opened the public hearing at this time. No one appeared for <br />or against the matter. Mayor Gunkel then closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Tralle noted he would like to see the seafood truck set up <br />in a commercial area as opposed to a residential area. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE FOR <br />MR. MARK MONTAGNE CONTINGENT ON STAFF REVIEW OF THE LOCATION IN REGARDS TO <br />ZONING AND TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.2.Consideration of Cigarette License <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel noted that the Deputy City Clerk had presented the Council <br />with a list of establishments who have paid their cigarette license fees <br />and mechanical amusement device licenses. and also those who have not <br />paid. <br /> <br />Councilmember Tralle indicated his concern regarding cigarettes being sold <br />to minors and stated he felt establishments selling to minors should be <br />prosecuted either by issuing them a citation or revolking their license to <br />sell cigarettes. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE CIGARETTE AND MECHANICAL <br />AMUSEMENT DEVICE LICENSES THAT HAVE PAID THEIR LICENSE FEES. A LIST OF <br />WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THESE MINUTES. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-1. .COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE OPPOSED. <br />
