<br />e <br /> <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br />MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1988 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel, Councilmembers Dobel, Schuldt, Tralle, <br />and Holmgren <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Lori Johnson, <br />Finance Director; Russ Anderson, Fire Chief; and <br />Peter Beck, City Attorney <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order by Mayor Gunkel at 8:35 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consider 12/12/88 City Council Agenda <br /> <br />Items 7.8 and 7.9 were reversed on the agenda due to the fact that item <br />7.8 was a closed door session of the City Council. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 12/12/88 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />5-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of 12/5/88 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE 12/5/88 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this portion of the agenda. <br /> <br />5. Consider Broadway Bar and Pizza Pull Tab Gambling License Application <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator, indicated that the Elk River Youth <br />Hockey Association has had their pull tab gambling license discontinued <br />by the State due to technicalities. He further indicated that the Hockey <br />Association operates their pull tab business at Broadway Bar and Pizza. <br />Because Youth Hockey is not operating pull tabs at the present time, <br />Larry Hennig is reqeusting to operate pull tabs at Broadway Bar and Pizza <br />for Camp Confidence. <br /> <br />Ron Johnson of Elk River Youth Hockey stated that the necessary papers <br />being requested by the State have been hand delivered. He indicated that <br />the State originally lost the papers which had been turned in. <br /> <br />Kim Hauger stated she anticipated receiving the gambling license by <br />December 19, 1988. <br /> <br />e Mayor Gunkel stated that Elk River Youth Hockey plays a very vital role <br />in the community and that there are over 400 kids involved in the <br />program. <br />
