<br />Page 3 <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />October 24. 1988 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. John Williams of 19401 Ulysses Street indicated that his property has <br />been designated to be zone changed from R-IA to R-IC. Mr. Williams also <br />indicated that his property lies on the border of two different <br />residential zones. Mr. Williams stated that due to the ponds and the <br />easement on his property his land is not conducive to construction and. <br />therefore. would prefer that his land not be zone changed but remain in <br />the R-la zone. <br /> <br />Mr. Rohlf indicated that Mr. Williams owns 4.33 acres and that because of <br />the ponds and easement he could only get two lots out of his parcel. Due <br />to this fact. Mr. Rohlf stated he would recommend that the land remain in <br />an R-la zone. The Council concurred with the recommendation. <br /> <br />Ellen Medenwaldt/12104 Highland Road questioned when sewer would be <br />available in the area and when street lights would be in the area. Mr. <br />Rohlf stated sewer would not come in the foreseeable future unless there <br />were problems. such as ground water contamination. in which case it could <br />be next year. <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel closed the public hearing at this time. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 88-27, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />THE CITY OF ELK RIVER ZONING MAP TO ZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY 'ROM All TO R- <br />IA; FROM R-IA TO R-IC;. AND FROM R-IB TO R-IC. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4.2.0rdinance Amendment Regarding Residential Lot Dimensions/Public Hearing <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf. Building and Zoning Administrator. indicated that the City is <br />proposing an ordinance amendment regarding residential lot dimensions. <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel opened the public hearing. There being no one for or against <br />the matter. Mayor Gunkel closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 88-28. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 900.18 OF THE ELK RIVER CODE OF ORDINANCES. COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.l.Discussion of Future Bond Referendum <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Russ Anderson. Fire Chief. informed the Council of the referendum which <br />the Fire Department is planning in February of 1989. He indicated that he <br />is looking at the purchase of an aerial truck in the amount of $390.000 to <br />$425.000. and at enlarging the present fire station at a cost of $230.000 <br />to $240.000. Discussion was held regarding the booth the Fire Department <br />will have at the Business Expo and the video they are working on. The <br />Council also discussed the fact that prior to any information regarding <br />the referendum being distributed to the public. all attempts should be <br />made to provide accurate information so as not to mislead the public. The <br />Council also indicated that the Fire Chief should work closely with City <br />Staff in coordinating the referendum and the necessary information needed <br />for the referendum. <br />
