<br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Elk River City Council Minutes <br />October 5, 1988 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMlMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 88-87, A RESOLUTION ADOPTING <br />THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL IN THE MATTER OF THE 1988 MAIN STREET IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMB!R TRALLE MOVED TO APPROVE RESOLUTION 88-88. A RESOLUTION ADOPTING <br />THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL IN THE MATTER OF THE 1988 JACKSON AVENUE IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />At this time the City Administrator informed the City Council that: 1) The <br />City and Police Union will have its second meeting scheduled for Tuesday. <br />October II, 1988, and that it is expected to take three or four meetings to <br />reach a final agreement; and 2) That the mother of Liquor Store Manager, <br />Fritz Dolejs, has recently passed away. Fritz's mother was an elderly lady <br />that was diagnosed with cancer. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The Economic Development Coordinator, Dick Fursman, reviewed with the City <br />Council a number of Central Business District economic development activities <br />that are being discussed. Dick reviewed the progress made with the <br />reconstruction of the hardware store; the proposal for a boardwalk along the <br />Mississippi River in the Central Business District; comments that have been <br />circulated regarding the selling of the County Administration Building, Court <br />House and Johnson property to Hardees; the relocation of the Mork Clinic; and <br />the relocation of Dr. Jarmoluk's dental office. Progress is being made <br />regarding the reconstruction of the hardware store and the pursuing of the <br />construction of a boardwalk. The situation relating to the County buildings, <br />Hardees, Mork Clinic and the relocation of Dr. Jarmoluk are much more up in <br />the air and susceptible to change. <br /> <br />At this time the City Council agreed to meet in a workshop session on Monday, <br />October 10, 1988, at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. to receive additional information <br />and hold additional discussions on these various Central Business District <br />economic development activities. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br />CITY COUNCIL. <br />4-0. <br /> <br />HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE CONTINUED 10/5/88 MEETING OF THE <br />COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION.
