e e e Page 2 City Council Minutes February 29. 1988 COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 22. 1988. CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AS AMENDED.. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 3.5.Mea1s on Wheels Terry Hurd. representative for Meals on Wheels. indicated that the week of March 20 is "Minnesota Meals to Homes on Wheels Week" and requested the Council to participate by delivering meals during the week. 4. Recreation Board Interviews The City Administrator indicated there are two vacancies on the Recreation Board at the present time. He indicated the vacancies are from Staff members who have been requested to resign due to the increased interest from in the Community to serve on the Board. He further indicated that the terms for Marilyn VanPatten and Byron Houghtelin have expired and they have both expressed an interest to renew their terms. The following people were interviewed for the two Recreation Board vacancies: David Anderson Clete Lipetzky Charlie Blesener After the interviews. discussion was held by the Council. The Council indicated that all three candidates would be excellent choices and hestitated to choose between them because of this fact. It was indicated that the three candidates would offer a wide range of expertise to the Board in Parks. Recreation Programs and Planning. The Council consented to contact Byron Houghtelin and Marilyn VanPatten to determine the interest level of these members for reappointment and involvement on the Board before a decision is made. 5. ANNUAL REPORTS 5.2.Administration Annual Report The 1987 Administration Annual Report was presented by Deputy City Clerk. Sandy Thackeray. 5.1.Police Department Annual Report The 1987 Police Department Annual Report was presented by Police Chief. Tom Zerwas. 5.3.Finance Department Annual Report The 1987 Finance Department Annual Report was presented by Finance Director. Lori Johnson.
