Purchase of Letter Quality Printer for IBM Wordprocessor Mayor Tralle requested that this item be put on hold for a few weeks while he has an opportunity to discuss this issue with the Finance Director as he has knowledge about this piece of equipment from his professional work. COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO TABLE THIS ISSUE UNTIL 4/17/89. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 10. Check Register Mayor Tralle reviewed with the Council the annual report from the Finance Director and the need for the City Council to begin signing the claims register. COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO HAVE ONLY THE MAYOR SIGN THE CHECK REGISTER WHEN PRESENTED BY THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE CHECK REGISTER AS PRESENTED. COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 11. City Administrator Update The City Administrator distributed a memo from the City Engineer dated 4/3/89 that discussed a staff meeting held on Friday, 3/31/89. This staff meeting was held with the Elk River Star News Managing Editor, Don Heinzman, and the contractors for the Main Street improvement project. The memo discusses the problems with the sidewalk and street surface that was put in to place in 1988, and the corrective actions that are anticipated to take place in early 1989. 12. Other Business No City issues were discussed at this time. 13. Adj ournment There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL. COUNCIL MEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0.
