HRA - Section 8 Housing <br /> <br />The City <br />Board has <br />County in <br />indicated <br />Housing in <br /> <br />Administrator informed the Council that the Sherburne County <br />authorized the St. Cloud HRA to act on behalf of Sherburne <br />allocating and locating Section 8 Housing. He further <br />that the City Council will be approached regarding Section 8 <br />Elk River in the near future. <br /> <br />8.5. Conferences <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that during the budget <br />process. Planning Commission national conferences were dropped. He <br />further noted that he has had a request from Peter Kimball to attend the <br />national planning conference. Discussion was held regarding whether <br />Planning Commission members who have never attended a national conference <br />should have preference in attending conferences. It was determined that <br />a policy should be made regarding conference attendance by Planning <br />Commission members. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to send letters to the Planning <br />Commission members to see if anyone is interested in attending the <br />national conference and further that two trips will be allowed. It was <br />further noted that preference would be given to those who did not attend <br />last years national conference. <br /> <br />~ 8.6. Council Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Kropuenske stated that the City should look at buying some <br />more professional looking office furniture. The Council discussed <br />budgeting for two desks per year until gradually the entire office is <br />upgraded. It was felt that more professional furniture would create a <br />more professional atmosphere. <br /> <br />The City Council requested that a joint Planning Commission and City <br />Council planning workshop be held on Saturday. April 8. 1989. <br /> <br />9. Adj ournment <br /> <br />There being no further business. <br />ADJOURN THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING. <br />MOTION.
