<br />e <br /> <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1989 <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Tralle, Councilmembers Dobel, Schuldt, Holmgren, <br />and Kropuenske <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: Patrick D. Klaers, City Administrator; Stephen Rohlf, <br />Building and Zoning Administrator; Steven Bjork, Zoning <br />Assistant <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of 2/13/89 City Council Agenda <br /> <br />Items 3.5 - Open Mike; and 7.1 and 7.2 - Mayor Update, were added to the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMlMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 2/13/89 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTON CARRIED <br />5-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consider 2/6/89 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 2/6/89 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />3.5. Open Mike <br /> <br />Jackie Schuelein, Chamber Executive Vice President, indicated that there <br />is a scheduling problem regarding the State of the City Program in March <br />and requested that the program be postponed until sometime in the fall. <br />She indicated that the Chamber would like a presentation on the <br />riverfront proposal at that time. It was the consensus of the Elk River <br />City Council to postpone the State of the City Address until fall. Mayor <br />Tralle indicated that he would like to give a short speach at the March <br />meeting regarding Highway 101 fund raising. <br /> <br />4.1. Determination of Use <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator, indicated that Mr. George <br />Deschenes has requested a determination of use regarding an 8,000 gallon <br />above ground bulk storage tank for gasoline to be located at Industrial <br />Grinding. He further stated that Industrial Grinding is an industrial <br />company located in an R-1A zone and is a legal non-conforming <br />grandfathered in use. Mr. Rohlf indicated that the Fire Marshal has <br />stated that he will not allow the above ground tank because of safety, <br />and Mr. Deschenes, therefore, has requested an underground tank. Mr. <br />Rohlf noted that this request will be presented to the Council at a <br />future date. <br /> <br />The Council took no action regarding this matter. <br />
