<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 1989 <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY <br /> <br />Members Present: Councilmembers Kropuenske, Dobel, Schuldt and Holmgren. <br />Mayor Tralle arrived at 7:50 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Steve Rohlf, Building and <br />Zoning Administrator; Steve Bjork, Zoning Assistant <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Planning Commission Representatives Kimball and Fuchs <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice Mayor Schuldt. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of 1/23/89 City Council Agenda <br /> <br />Item 5.4 was moved before 5.7. Items 8.1 and 8.2, City Administrator <br />Update; and 8.3, Councilmember Schuldt Update <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 1/23/89 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consider 1/9/89 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 1/9/89 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />John Fitzgerald, representing Land of Lakes Choir Boys, addressed the <br />Council. He stated that the Land of Lakes Choir Boys store their <br />supplies in the old Courthouse and as the Courthouse is going to be <br />demolished, the Choir Boys are looking for a new place to store <br />equipment. Mr. Fitzgerald requested the Council to allow the Choir Boys <br />to use the old city hall (creamery building) to store their equipment. <br />He indicated that they would vacate the building immediately if requested <br />to do so by the City. He further indicated that this is only a temporary <br />measure until a permanent home can be found and the organization has <br />appropriate insurance coverage. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO ALLOW THE LAND OF LAKES CHOIR BOYS TO USE <br />THE OLD CITY HALL FOR STORAGE OF THEIR EQUIPMENT ON A TEMPORARY BASIS. <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. 'THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Dave Burandt indicated that he has brought to the City's attention <br />several times that the water tower light is burned out. He indicated <br />that the light has been out for 8 months and is still not replaced. <br />
