City Council Minutes
July 16, 1990

Page 8

e

Councilmember Kropuenske indicated that he disagrees with Councilmember
Holmgren because of the fact that the sign ordinance has had a lot of
work put into it and that it is a relatively new adopted ordinance.

THE MOTION FAILED 2-3. Councilmembers Kropuenske, Schuldt, and Mayor
Tralle voted against the motion.

6.3. Administrative Subdivision by David Gow/Public Hearin~

The Building and Zoning Administrator stated that Mr. Gow owns a 40
acre parcel and that he is requesting to subdivide five or ten acres
from this parcel to accommodate the existing house. Discussion was
held regarding access to the newly created parcel. The Building and
Zoning Administrator explained that his memo listed three options for
the Council to consider regarding the access. He explained that the
options were as follows:

1. Allow the newly created parcel to be accessed by the private
easement as shown.

2. Allow the lot split as proposed with both lots being accessed off
of 205th Avenue. This would possibly include the upgrading of
205th Avenue to an urban section road. Mr. Rohlf indicated that
this option is probably cost prohibitive for the applicant.

e

3.

Allow the lot split as shown with 205th Avenue remaining
unimproved.

Mayor Tralle opened the public hearing.

Mr. Paul Juenemann of 19210 Waco Street indicated that the plat shows
the sixty foot easement as being totally on his property.

Marilyn VanPatten Chuba indicated that she owns the lot next to Mr.
Gow. She stated that the road should turn and be extended north. She
stated she would like to sell part of her property, but there is no
access to it.

Katherine Juenemann questioned who actually owns the road. She stated
that it is listed as their property on their property taxes and that
they are paying taxes on their road. She further questioned why they
are paying the taxes if 205th is a City road.

Councilmember Kropuenske stated that because the Council does not know
where the actual easement is, he would suggest that staff research the
administrative subdivision request further and bring it back to Council
at a later date.

e

COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING UNTIL
AUGUST 20 AND THAT THE PETITIONER PROVIDE AN ADEQUATE SITE PLAN SHOWING
WHERE THE EASEMENTS LAY. COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION.
