<br />City Council Minutes <br />June 11, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />6.1 WWTP Land Purchase <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that the City has reached <br />an agreement with the property owner of the property which the City is <br />pursuing to purchase for the disposal of sludge generated by the <br />Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mr. Klaers indicated that the property <br />consists of under 70 acres of land with approximately 50-55 acres of <br />useable land and that the purchase price will be $2,050/acre. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE AUTHORIZED STAFF TO NEGOTIATE A PURCHASE <br />AGREEMENT ACCORDING TO THE GENERAL TERMS AS INDICATED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR AND SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE MPCA. COUNCILMEMBER <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />7.1 C~Qncilmember Holm~ren/Community Center Task Force Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren indicated that it would be more appropriate to <br />discuss this matter with a full Council. He stated that he would <br />discuss the matter at the June 18, Council meeting. <br /> <br />7.2 <br /> <br />Proclamation <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Schuldt read a City of Elk River Proclamation proclaiming <br />June 11-15 as Miss Elk River week in honor of Sarah Elizabeth Abraham <br />who is competing in the Miss Minnesota Pageant. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO PROCLAIM JUNE 11-15 AS MISS ELK RIVER <br />WEEK. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />3-0. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to send flowers to Ms. Abraham <br />in Austin, Minnesota, where she is competing for the Miss Minnesota <br />ti tle. <br /> <br />7.3 Councilmember Schuldt <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt questioned the progress on the MacGibbon sidewalk <br />case. The City Administrator informed the Council that the case was <br />scheduled to go to court for a temporary injunction. He indicated that <br />Mr. MacGibbon has stated that if the City stakes the area where the <br />sidewalk will be going and builds a retaining wall, that he would allow <br />the sidewalk to go in. The City Administrator indicated that the <br />City's Attorney and Mr. MacGibbon will be talking regarding this matter <br />and that he expects authorization from Mr. MacGibbon to construct the <br />sidewalk sometime this summer. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />City Administrator Update <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that the Planning <br />Commission met on Thursday to review the area wide study and that the <br />Council will be hearing this information at the June 25, 1990 Council <br />meeting. <br />
