Q~ll Meetin~ to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by acting Mayor Schuldt. <br /> <br />2. QQI~~icler J?lllllHLQi ty Counci~ A~enda <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The following items were added to the Council agenda: <br />3.2 Fire Chief <br />7.2 Proclamation <br />7.3 Councilmember Schuldt <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/11/90 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA <br />AS AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />3.1 Morrell Transfer Site <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator, referred the Council to <br />the memo in the Council packet regarding Morrell Transfer. He <br />indicated that the memo was requested by the Council at the June 4, <br />Council meeting. Mr. Rohlf indicated that the memo summarizes <br />discussions between himself and Larry Morrell regarding the Morrell <br />trucking site. Mr. Rohlf stated that Larry Morrell's truck terminal is <br />a grandfathered-in nonconforming use and indicated that Mr. Morrell has <br />stated that he would cooperate with the City in cleaning up the site. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Rohlf stated that complaints regarding the Morrell site consisted <br />of junk vehicles, sales activities taking place, signage for the sales <br />acti vi ties, parking of vehicles and signs in the City right-of-way, <br />outside storage of miscellaneous items and stockpiling of used car <br />batteries and miscellaneous. junk. Mr. Rohlf stated that Gene Zappa <br />uses Mr. Morrell's property to stockpile scrap metal and batteries. He <br />stated that Mr. Zappa has used this site for twenty years. Mr. Rohlf <br />stated that he is recommending that all outdoor storage on the property <br />be limited to two areas on the site and that the storage be screened in <br />a manner approved by staff. <br />
