L Librar <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Mick S offers, Elk River Public Librarian, presented her annual report <br />to the City Council. She indicated that the major expense for 1989 was <br />the pu chase of a micro film reader printer. She also indicated that <br />the Bo rd is working on a proposal to use some of the City's reserve <br />funds to start initial stages of expansion of the Library building. <br />Counci member Holmgren indicated that the Community Center Task Force <br />had su gested that the Community Center look at housing the Library. <br />He ind. cated that perhaps the Library Board put a delay on their plans <br />for ex ansion until a recommendation is made by the Community Center <br />Task Free. The Council thanked Mick Stoffers for the Library annual <br />report <br /> <br />6.2. Street De artment Annual Re ort Phil Hals <br /> <br />Phil als, Street Superintendent, gave a slide presentation to the <br />Counci as he presented his annual report. Phil Hals highlighted the <br />major ccomplishments by the Street Department in 1989 and complimented <br />his st ff for their enthusiasm and efficiency. <br /> <br />6.3. Admini <br /> <br />e <br /> <br /> <br />Sandy hackeray, City Clerk, presented the Administration annual report <br />to the Council. She indicated that the secretarial services provided <br />throug Administration staff were accomplished by Alice Heinecke, <br />Brenda Ebner and the City Clerk. She reviewed with the Council some of <br />the ma .or accomplishments which took place in 1989 and also discussed <br />projec s which will be considered for 1990. <br /> <br />7.1. <br /> <br /> <br />ion on Decision Resources <br /> <br /> <br />Results and Data <br /> <br />Pat Kl ers, City Administrator, informed the Council that information <br />contai ing results and data of the Community Survey by Decision <br />Resour es, Inc. is available at City Hall. <br /> <br />COUNCI MEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE SURVEY RESULTS OF THE <br />COMMON TY SURVEY PRESENTATION BY DECISION RESOURCES INCORPORATED. <br />COUNCI MEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />7.2. Discus ion on Tax Forfeited Pro ert <br /> <br />The Ci y Administrator explained that the City is attempted to purchase <br />two ta forfeited properties within the next two weeks. He indicated <br />that b th of these properties relate to possible development activities <br />in 199. One of the properties being purchased is off of Auburn Place <br />and i one acre in size located in a congested neighborhood. He <br />indica edthat the original purpose of pursuing the parcel was to <br />provid open space and recreational opportunities in this <br />rteighb rhood. Mr. Klaers indicated that development is being proposed.. <br />for Ba ringtori Place properties, which is adjacent to the lot the City <br />will b purchasing off of Auburn Place. Mr. Santwire is proposing a <br />possib e reconfiguration of the lots once the City purchases the <br /> <br />e <br />
