It was the consensus of the City Council to authorize the City Administrator to inform Mr. Morrell of the Council's split decision; 2 in favor of raising the offer to $280,000 and 2 in favor of keeping the offer at $250,000, and further, that the City Administrator inform Mr. Morrell that the matter would be discussed again by the City Council on January 22, 1990. 9.1 Oth~.r_I3.lls iness Mayor Tra.lle informed the Council that he has been approached by the Northern Metro Mayor's Association to consider Elk River joining the association. He indicated that Elk River is becoming more and more a part of the metropolitan area and stated that he felt it would be in Elk River's benefit to join the association. Mayor Tralle indicated that he has had a request for a resolution by the Anoka Ramsey College Advisory Committee. He indicated that the resolution would encourage legislation of the 2 + 2 Higher Education Program. COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 90-3, A RESOLUTION PROMOTING THE 2 + 2 HIGHER EDUCATION PILOT PROGRAM. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Mayor TraUe indicated that compensation for the Mayor and City Council must be brought before the Ci ty Counci 1 and voted on prior to City Council election. He instructed City staff to put this item on the January 22, Council agenda. 11. Adjournment There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING.
